Rosie Wesley is a graduate from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham with a BA (Hons) in Metalwork. She is currently working from her studio at The Sorting Office in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
With a focus on texture and form, Rosie’s sculptural works are individual, site-responsive pieces to locations within the New Forest, where she grew up.
Rosie works with direct burn-out casting techniques to produce replica textures of bark which she combines with components based on the landscape’s negative spaces. Markings and drawings on the pieces reflect her personal interactions with the space.
With the occasional accompaniment of film, audio or photography, Rosie’s work encourages viewers to consider their own personal connections to spaces and places within our natural environment.
